DJ Frank Richards is one the founding fathers of the Las Vegas dance music scene. Richards has held residencies and music director positions at every Vegas hot spot for well over 21 years. Having shared the stage with the likes of Frankie Knuckles, Dennis Ferrer, Roger Sanchez, David Morales, Sasha, John Digweed, Felix da Housecat, Paul Oakenfold, Doc Martin, Satoshi Tomiie, Josh Wink, Derrick Carter, Masters at Work, Mark Farina, Dave Seamen, Nick Warren and Danny Howells… Richards has held exclusive residencies and music director positions at infamous Las Vegas clubs like: Club Utopia, Red Dragon at China Grill (Mandalay Bay Resort), Rehab at the Hard Rock Hotel Pool, ICE Meta Club, and a 5 year residency “PURE” at Caesar’s Palace (considered to be one of the world’s most elite nightclubs). Frank’s 8-hour marathon sets 3 times a week became legendary, and he quickly became one of the most sought after DJ’s in Vegas (and internationally). He has been invited to gig regularly at special events in cities around the world, including: Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Panama, Bangkok, Ko Samui, Phuket, Jakarta, Manila, Cebu, Fiji Islands, Honolulu, Mexico City, London, Miami, New York, City, Chicago, Detroit, Denver, San Diego, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and of course his home base, Las Vegas. He has held special guest appearances at Q Bar – Bangkok, Turnmills – London, Vudu – Cebu, Stereo Lab – Phuket, and Embassy – Jakarta. Specific events hosting Richards in recent years include Paul Oakenfold’s “Perfecto” at The Palms Casino Resort – Las Vegas, Space – Ibiza on World Tour, the Jakarta Music Festival, Soundbar, Godskitchen, Angel Music Group, Naked LA, Afterhour-Power, Giant LA, The Love Festival, Go Ventures, 2nd Sunday San Francisco and Saturday Night Sessions L.A.
In May of 2008, Frank was invited to Tokyo’s legendary nightclub, SPACE LAB YELLOW, to play at the final party of Ko Kimura’s “KOOL”. Frank’s most revered booking to date, it was an honor to play alongside Japan’s most influential house DJ, Ko Kimura. Another of Richards’ most honored gigs to date (in 2009) was when he played at Club Velvet (Panama) alongside Antoine Clamaran for a Ministry of Sound World Tour event. Richards spent a lot of time traveling between the U.S. and Asia over the past 8 years, playing and promoting his label and mix CD’s, like: Frank Richards Live in Hong Kong and Q Bar Bangkok. His live mix CD’s have generated rave reviews, with Q Bar Bangkok being described as “a deep and seductive mix which perfectly rides that fine line between home listening and dance floor energy” (Denis Hemakom, Q Bar Bangkok / Ku De Ta). In early 2010, following his Asian South Pacific tour, Richards chose to take on a limited schedule a much needed break from his extensive travels and the rigorous nightlife schedule. As a studio engineer and producer, Richards became one of the creative forces behind HiSoL Recordings, an independent label he runs with his partner, Sotero Garcia. Over the last decade, HiSoL has release several tracks: “What U Need” feat Ion, Spirit of the Council, The Heart, Muddy Waters and The Vibe (licensed by Global Underground #23 for James Lavelle Barcelona’s 2X CD).
Frank relocated to Phuket, Thailand to expand his horizons in September of 2011. Here he accepted a music director & event manager position at XANA Beach Club with Attica in May of 2012. He booked and headlined with some of the world’s most respected international DJ’s, listing hosting greats as: Frankie Knuckles (considered “The Godfather of House Music”), Dennis Ferrer, Paul Oakenfold, Peter Hook (New Order), Matt Caseli (Pacha Ibiza), Aaron Ross (Defected in the House radio show), Ministry of Sound World Tour, DJ Chuckie, Jazzy Jeff, Sven Vath and Pete Tong. Richards’ took Phuket and the Island by storm, introducing the scene to a new level of entertainment and nightlife that has since been recognized around the globe. Richards now has relocated back to his home base in Las Vegas and was awarded as the best Vinyl DJ at the House Music awards.
